1 T olive oil 1 12 oz bag seasoning blend
2 lbs ground beef 2-3 T minced garlic
3 15 oz cans diced tomatoes 1 6 oz can tomato paste
SPICES: 2 T granulated sugar 1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried parsley 1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme 1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp celery salt 1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1 bay leaf
Heat olive oil in large skillet or dutch oven. Add ground beef and seasoning blend (frozen is fine). Cook til meat browns and vegetables are tender. Drain the fat. Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, and spices. (Hint: I measure out spices and put on top of tomatoes in the can, then dump it all and blend. Much easier I find than one at a time.) Add bay leaf. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer covered 20-30 minutes. Top with fresh basil, parsley and parmesan if desired when serving over pasta. It is soo good and easy! This makes a lot, so freeze your leftovers!
